About

I believe it’s important for any homeowner to feel comfortable with their contractor. It is helpful to know a little about the person one chooses to hire and trust.

I grew up in small town Minnesota. I played every team sport possible until my graduation from Sibley East High School. My dad was a farmer and full-time carpenter. Needless to say, I was taught at a young age how to work hard and swing a hammer. In fact, by the time I was fifteen I had already helped with several significant home remodels and construction projects. In addition to my early years of carpentry, I also spent one summer working on a survey crew and two summers learning concrete/masonry.

After high school I attended St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota where I earned my B.A. in Business Management. I put myself through college doing carpentry and saving every dollar possible when I wasn’t in the classroom. ¬†Immediately after my college graduation I relocated to the Twin Cites and worked for several custom home-builders as a project manager. During that time I discovered my true passion was helping people make their home improvement goals a reality. Through this realization I decided to start my own company, Tauer Inc. Today I am doing what I love: helping people create the home of their dreams.

And most recently I started a family! My wife (Rachel) spent 10 years working for corporate Target and recently made a switch to Halo Innovations as their Inventory Manager.  We currently live in Eden Prairie and have 2 little boys, James (3), Carson (1)!
